Bounce Back, Missing, or Delayed Anderson Emails Forwarded to Gmail
There is currently a known email forwarding issue, particularly Anderson email accounts that have set their emails to be forwarded to a Yahoo or Gmail address (@g.ucla.edu or @gmail.com), where senders are getting a message that Gmail has blocked their emails, or there is a long delay for emails to be delivered.
Since we are in the process of procuring Mimecast, which is the replacement of Proofpoint, an email spam filtering service, we are receiving an high amount of spam emails arriving to our Anderson mailboxes.
When all emails, including spam are being sent to Office 365 accounts that have email forwarding turned on, the sender is now Office 365 Mail which Gmail identifies it as spam and rejects the emails. The sender will receive a bounce back email explaining that their email was not delivered and was blocked by Gmail.
Workaround Solution: Follow this temporary fix until this issue is resolved.
If Anderson emails are being forwarded to a Yahoo or Gmail address:
Keep a copy of the emails sent to your Anderson address, and check your Anderson mailbox in Outlook for messages that may have been blocked by Gmail.
1. Log into outlook.anderson.ucla.edu using your UCLA Logon credentials.
2. Click the Settings button on the top right of the page.
3. Under Mail, click Forwarding.
4. Check the box "Keep a copy of forwarded messages".
