Welcome! This guide will walk you through accessing the official UCLA Anderson Slack workspace. Slack is a communication hub for program announcements, section-specific discussions, academic collaboration, and networking with your peers.
Slack is a messaging and collaboration platform available to all UCLA students, faculty and staff. With UCLA Slack Enterprise, people can work together more effectively, connect various software tools and services, and find the information they need to do their best work — all within a secure, enterprise-grade environment.
By default, all UCLA affiliates with an SSO have access to the UCLA Campus community slack workspace. However, the Anderson workspace is a private, separate space exclusively for the Anderson community. Students cannot join it automatically; they must be added in. This ensures that our internal communications remain secure and relevant to our students, faculty, and staff. Access to the UCLA Anderson workspace is separate and requires approval. Approvals are managed by ACIS.

Find the UCLA Anderson Workspace
Once successfully logged into the UCLA Enterprise Grid, you should automatically see and have access to the "UCLA Anderson" workspace in your Slack sidebar. Upon entering, you will find channels specific to your program (e.g., #ftmba-2025
), your section (e.g., #ftmba-2025-section-a
), and other essential channels.

Important Note on Timing:Access to the UCLA Anderson workspace is provisioned on a specific date set by your program. If you log in before this date, you will only see the general UCLA campus workspace. Please try again on or after the onboarding date communicated by your program office.
UCLA Enterprise Slack Grid vs. Unofficial Workspaces
The Official UCLA Anderson Slack (ucla.slack.com): This is your official communication platform. It's secure, directly connected to your UCLA ID, and used by program staff, faculty, and departments for important announcements and collaboration. All official information will be here.
Pre-Admissions/Unofficial Slack: Many students use an unofficial, free Slack workspace (often created by fellow students or affiliates) for connecting before official admission. Please note: This is not the official UCLA Anderson Slack and is not affiliated with or monitored by UCLA. We recommend transitioning your primary activity to the official workspace once you have access.
Troubleshooting & Support
-
"I can't log in!" or "I don't see the Anderson workspace!"
First, double-check that you are using ucla.slack.com and your correct UCLA Logon ID. Then, confirm with your program office that your program's onboarding date has passed. If issues persist, create a ticket by emailing it.servicedesk@anderson.ucla.edu.
-
"My access suddenly stopped working!"
Please ensure your tuition and fees are paid. Non-payment can result in loss of access to university resources, including Slack. Access is reinstated by the Registrar's Office once payment is confirmed. You will need to be re-added to the Anderson workspace.
-
"I already have a separate Slack Account, can I still access UCLA Slack?"
Yes. You can be signed into multiple Slack workspaces at the same time. See instructions here.
Quick Tips for Using Slack
-
Set up your profile: Add your "brick pic" and your full name so your classmates and professors can recognize you. Your display name should be: First Last - Program Year (e.g., Joe Bruin - FTMBA 2025).
-
Use threads: Keep conversations organized by replying in threads. This prevents main channels from getting cluttered.
-
Manage notifications: Customize your notification settings to avoid being overwhelmed. You can set them on a per-channel basis.
-
Explore channels: Click the "+" next to "Channels" in your sidebar to browse and join public channels for clubs, interests, and more.
