Slack: Create a Channel and Invite Non-UCLA Guests
There is workflow within Slack that can be used between collaborators of different institutions. Slack users can create a channel (preferably private) for a project in the Anderson workspace and then invite non-UCLA participants as single-channel guests to collaborate within that channel. The instructions to create a channel and invite a guest are below.
Log into ucla.slack.com with your UCLA LOGON ID and you will be in the UCLA Campus Community workspace. From there, switch to the UCLA Anderson workspace or request to join the UCLA Anderson workspace. Once in the UCLA Anderson workspace, you can create the channel.
Create a Channel:
1. From the sidebar (on the top left), click on UCLA Anderson, then click on Create a channel.

2. Give the channel a name, then click Next.
3. Choose a channel type (private recommended if course-related matters will be discussed), then click Create. Click here for more information regarding public and private channels.
4. Click Skip for now.
Invite a guest:
1. From the sidebar (on the top left), click on UCLA Anderson, then click on Invite people to UCLA Anderson.

2. Enter the email address for anyone you'd like to invite.
3. Click the drop-down menu to choose whether you'd like to invite members or guests and select Guest.
4. Under Add to Channels, specify the name of the channel(s) you would like to add the guest to.
5. Complete any additional required fields and click Send Request. Please note that guest invites require further admin approval.
