Capital IQ for Excel
Prerequisites
To be able to access Capital IQ through Excel, you will need to have the following:

Anderson Proxy configured
- Capital IQ account
- Windows computer with Office 365 installed
Note that Anderson and UCLA Library Research Databases are for academic use only.
Download and Install the Addin
- Go to https://www.capitaliq.com.

The Anderson Proxy window should appear. Log in with your Anderson Network account.
If the proxy window does not appear, see the Anderson Proxy prerequisite above.
- Log into Capital IQ with your Capital IQ account.
- Once logged in, go to Profile (left) > Downloads. Download and install the Excel addin.
Enable the Addin
- Open Excel.
- A new tab S&P Capital IQ will appear in the ribbon. Go there, then Click to Enable or Settings.
- Go to Proxy Settings on the left.

Enter the following information:
- HTTP: Use Specified Settings
- Address: proxy.anderson.ucla.edu
- Port: 3128
- Username: Your Anderson Network Username
- Password: Your Anderson Network Password

SSL: Use HTTP Settings
- Click Apply. A Connection successful message should appear above the Please select your proxy settings line.
- Go to Login on the left.

Enter your Capital IQ credentials.

Click Apply. It may not accept your credentials. This is okay. Click OK. The Capital IQ icons should now be enabled. If they are not, close and reopen Excel.
Troubleshooting
If you are unable to access the Settings, download the Plugin Manager from Capital IQ Support. Use it to clear the Excel cache for the addin, then try again.
